Dryer Vent Cleaning

Special Report on House Fires
The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a special report detailing the fire hazards related to lint in clothes dryers and dryer vents. Approximately 15,000 fires per year are attributed to excessive lint in dryers and dryer vents. Additionally, dozens of deaths and millions of dollars of property damage occur as a result of these fires.

Fires can occur when lint builds up in the dryer or in the exhaust duct. Lint can block the flow of air, cause excessive build-up and can result in a fire in dryers and where they are located.

These images show samples of dryer vents before and after cleaning:

Why We Clean Dryer Vents:

  • Protects your home & its contents from fires, smoke and pollutants
  • Significantly reduces energy operating costs
  • Dryers run more efficiently
  • Dryers will last longer
  • Clothes will dry faster

Purchasing a new dryer does not eliminate the potential fire risk inherent in dryer vents. It is the dryer vent itself, clogged with lint and paper particles, that is the primary and most significant fire hazard.

Even a cleaned lint screen traps only 75% of the lint produced inside a dryer. The rest of the lint builds up over time inside the dryer vent, becoming a fire hazard. Dryer lint is highly flammable and has the potential to ignite at any time.

 Air Duct Cleaning

What a wonderful thing air conditioning is!

We can have cool air in the summer and warm air in the winter, and always feel comfortable in our home. All thanks to the HVAC system and its ductwork.

But, because of this modern convenience, it is less common for us to open all the windows and "air out" the house.

The EPA states that the air indoors can be 70% more polluted than the air outside. Yet we spend up to 90% of our time indoors. That means that we are constantly polluting our lungs by breathing in contaminants from the air in our homes.

While we may spend time and money on vacuums, dusters, even air cleaners for individual rooms, one of the best ways we can immediately improve the indoor air quality in our homes is with air duct cleaning and restoration.

At AmericAirControl we use a truck mounted vacuum collection system that provides over 10,000 CFM of suction! We will remove the debris and contaminants from your air ducts, and ensure that it leaves your home for good.

Another factor to consider is what does the price reflect?

At AmericAirControl, the price we quote reflects the total job price. We include cleaning all supply and return ductwork, registers, and the actual air handling unit itself. In other words, wherever the air goes, we clean!

If you would like to know more about having your residential air ducts professionally cleaned, please give us a call or request more information.
